WeWork Labs is The We Company's global platform for early-stage start-ups and forward-thinking enterprise companies. We empower inventive humans and organisations to shape the present and influence the future.
Our start-up labs
We start with thoughtfully designed spaces that inspire our global community of entrepreneurs to experiment, collaborate and grow. Within these spaces, we foster meaningful connections between start-ups and the educational, mentorship and financial resources needed to drive their businesses forward.
Our global mentor network comprises more than 1,300 professionals. Mentors engage with members one on one, in roundtable settings and virtually. Each WeWork Lab also hosts an entrepreneur in residence.
We create customised educational programming to meet our members’ personal and professional development needs. Curriculums are developed and facilitated in partnership with our network of mentors and experts.
Each WeWork lab is operated by a dedicated Labs Manager. Pulling from their own entrepreneurial experiences and networks, Labs Managers serve as coaches and super-connectors for our members.
By the end of 2019, we will operate more than 100 WeWork Labs on five continents. Our WeWork Labs satellite programme provides members with opportunities to access programming in any of our global locations.
It is no secret that The We Company has harnessed the power of community unlike any business before it. We know that entrepreneurs working alongside one another creates the ideal environment for learning and development.
More than 50 international service providers have partnered with WeWork Labs to offer exclusive member benefits and discounts.
Innovation services for enterprise companies
The pace of change fuelled by technology is mandating new standards for corporate innovation. As the home of more entrepreneurs and start-ups than any other platform in the world, WeWork is uniquely positioned to solve enterprise clients' greatest innovation challenges.
We're building a community of entrepreneurs, industry experts and investors to fix food, now and for the future. Food Labs offers two programming tracks to companies moving the needle in sustainability -- Food Labs Membership and the Food Labs Accelerator.
To celebrate our one-year anniversary, we held a pitch competition in New York City, with $250,000 in funding distributed among the winners. The grand prize went to Lilu, a start-up making a compression bra that helps mothers pump milk. Stojo came in second place with the world's first collapsible cup, while Lucky Iron Fish, a Canadian social enterprise dedicated to solving iron deficiency and anemia in developing countries, came third.
The community of WeWork Labs managers is the driving force behind the success of our start-up programmes. Each Labs manager is a veteran in their respective local start-up ecosystem and, together, this global team's unifying passion for supporting founders is unmatched.
We began 2019 with 37 Labs in 22 cities and will end the year with a total of 100 locations around the world. This spring, we are excited to be opening new Labs in Houston, San Jose, San Mateo, Minneapolis, Dublin, Prague, Mexico City, London, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Singapore, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Bengaluru and Gurugram.
