WeWork, the world’s leading flexible office space provider, today announced that Lauren Fritts has been promoted to the position of Chief Communications Officer. Fritts is an accomplished executive with more than 15 years of experience in senior communications roles in both the public and private sectors. She will report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Sandeep Mathrani.
Fritts assumes this position after three years with WeWork. She previously served as Vice President of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, overseeing stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. In her new role, Fritts will lead WeWork’s internal and external communications and public affairs functions on a global basis.
“Since my first day on the job, Lauren has shown herself to be a trusted and invaluable partner with the expertise and passion to move this company forward,” said Mathrani. “The last five months have been anything but predictable for the world and of course WeWork, but Lauren is no stranger to challenging environments and has handled it all with grit and grace. Lauren’s steadfast and strong leadership will elevate our efforts to effectively communicate WeWork’s next chapter.”
“I couldn’t be prouder to be working alongside this leadership team and with an incredible group of communications and public affairs professionals who continue to highlight our successes and drive the conversation on the future of flexible workspace,” said Fritts.
Prior to WeWork, Fritts worked in the public sector, serving as the Digital Director and Deputy Communications Director for Chris Christie during his term as the Governor of New Jersey and on his 2016 presidential campaign. In this role, Fritts developed and executed strategic digital and media communication plans that highlighted the legislative and policy agendas of the Christie administration.
