  • Seven floors of workspace inside a Dutch national monument: coworking spaces, private offices, meeting rooms, a parent’s room, and canal views from nearly every floor.
  • Weesperplein metro (lines 51, 53, 54) at the doorstep, as well as tram lines 1, 7, and 19. Bike storage and parking available on-site.
  • Amenities such as a parent’s room, showers, recreational games, and a dog-friendly policy.
  • A community team that keeps the events coming and the building running smoothly.
  • WeWork All Access, the membership that unlocks this building and takes you across the Netherlands and beyond.

Designed in 1960 by architect Arthur Staal and now listed as a Dutch national monument, the Metropool has been many things over its lifetime: a municipal office, the editorial home of the Financieele Dagblad, and, after a major renovation, a multifunctional landmark that today houses WeWork Weesperstraat 61-105.

WeWork occupies seven floors of the Metropool, offering coworking areas and private offices complete with meeting rooms, phone booths, recreation areas, a parent’s room, and panoramic views over the canals.

The definition of well-connected

The Metropool sits on one of Amsterdam’s main arteries, and the transit connections reflect that.

Weesperplein metro station is essentially at the front door, serving lines 51, 53, and 54 with direct connections to Amsterdam Centraal, Amstel, and stations further south and east. Tram lines 1, 7, and 19 stop at Weesperplein as well, and there’s night bus N85 for when you stay out late. If you drive or cycle in, bike storage and parking spaces are available on-site.

You can also get here on foot from a number of Amsterdam landmarks. The Stopera and Waterlooplein are a short walk west, while the University of Amsterdam’s Roeterseiland campus is right around the corner. If you’re staying at the Zoku Hotel, which shares the building, your commute is an elevator ride.

Unique first impressions

The Metropool makes an impression before you reach the WeWork floors. The building’s modernist lines and long facade signal that this is no typical office block, which is only confirmed once you step into the actual workspace.

Bright lounges and coworking areas invite you to take a seat at one of many hot desks or settle into a lounge, or perhaps you head straight to your private office. But before all that, grab yourself a coffee from the kitchen and enjoy the panorama. The Metropool offers a front-row view of Amsterdam’s iconic canals.

Spaces for every moment of your workday

WeWork Weesperstraat 61-105 is all about variety. The open coworking areas carry energy and buzz when you want it. Phone booths offer privacy for a quick call. Meeting rooms are bookable through the app for everything from a 30-minute check-in to a half-day workshop. And when you need deep, heads-down time, a quieter corner on a different floor is always available.

Private offices range from single desks to spaces for larger teams, secure, furnished, and fully wired. Metropool makes it easy to establish a professional presence in Amsterdam, pairing a distinctive address with the flexibility to work without a build-out or long-term commitment.

Amenities that shape your day

A few features here go beyond the standard coworking checklist and into the territory of things that actually change how your day works. Among them, the parent’s room caters to those balancing work and childcare. Showers mean you can cycle in or freshen up before heading out for the evening. And if you need a quick reset, the recreational games area gives you a fun reason to step away from the screen without stepping out of the building. Finally, WeWork Weesperstraat 61-105 is dog-friendly, so your four-legged co-worker doesn’t have to take PTO.

The building itself adds a few extras that shape your experience all the same. You may choose Trainmore for your daily workout and Petit Lou for a fancy morning coffee. The Metropool also houses Zoku Hotel, so visiting clients or colleagues flying in will have a place to stay at the same address.

A team that keeps it running

The community team at Weesperstraat handles the day-to-day (think keycards, room bookings, space orientation, printer quirks) and the kind of hospitality that turn a workspace into an actual community: weekly events, member introductions, and the attentiveness you need on your first visit.

With members from across industries sharing 7 floors, the event calendar stays active. Networking sessions, lunch events, low-key social gatherings. You don’t need to plan ahead. Just check the board or ask a community team member, and show up.

Outside the Metropool

An address like Weesperstraat 61-105 means you can leave on foot and never run out of things to do. Royal Theater Carré, one of the city’s most beloved performance venues, is a five-minute walk along the Amstel. Artis Zoo is just to the east. Waterlooplein, with its daily flea market and the Stopera (Amsterdam’s City Hall and opera house), is a short walk west. The University of Amsterdam campus is around the corner, which keeps the neighborhood lively with students, cafés, and a vibrant energy that doesn’t fade after office hours.

And then there’s the Magere Brug. Amsterdam’s famous Skinny Bridge is right across the canal from the building. You’ll see it from the window, adding a distinctly Amsterdam view to the workday.

Not just this building

A WeWork All Access membership gets you into Weesperstraat 61-105 and the other WeWork locations across Amsterdam, including Stadhouderskade in the Museum Quarter and Weteringschans along the canal ring. It also gets you beyond city and country lines if your work takes you to London, Paris, or anywhere else in the network. Same app, same keycard.
