WeWork Welcomes Artists with Studios for Creatives

WeWork’s Studios for Creatives offers studio space, community, and opportunity to artists of all trades

New York, NY – June 21, 2023 – WeWork (NYSE: WE), the leading global flexible space provider, today introduces the Studios for Creatives, a creative community where studio space and coworking converge.

Located at WeWork 229 W 36th St. in the Garment District and WeWork Gotham Center in Long Island City, the Studios for Creatives reimagines WeWork’s flexible workspace into cost-effective studio space designed to bring artists, designers, photographers, and other creatives together in one community. At the Studios, artistry is supported by WeWork’s signature business amenities, including high-speed wifi, meeting rooms, unlimited coffee, and business-class printers, resulting in a best of both worlds space for artists of all trades to pursue their passions and conduct business.

Among the members at WeWork’s Studios for Creatives is Susan Weinthaler, a mixed-media artist who has worked in New York since 1995 and has collectors around the world. “Having an art studio at WeWork is simply ideal,” said Weinthaler. “It’s allowed me to free my mind of certain responsibilities, meet a marketing company, and be able to take my work to the next level. I love it.”

At the Studios for Creatives, artists can find dedicated space for their craft, increasing opportunities for work-life balance and new inspiration. Joshua Lavra, a New York queer and founder of faguette.net, says “I was starting to question my sanity, working, eating, sewing, and winding down at the same table in my apartment everyday. My studio space has given me back some balance, a semi-permanent home for my sewing machines, and both physical and metaphorical space for my creative projects to grow.”

“The Studios for Creatives is a perfect example of how WeWork is able to reimagine our offerings to meet all the ways that people want to work,” said Joyce Ke, Territory Vice President of Tri-State at WeWork. “We’re thrilled to welcome artists of all trades into our spaces and provide resources for this community to thrive.”
