WeWork and Verizon Business to bring 5G networks to U.S. spaces

Industry-leading cell sites to be installed to 10 WeWork locations

New York – WeWork, a global leader in flexible space solutions,  today announced with Verizon Business and Corning that they are bringing industry-leading 5G cell sites to selected WeWork locations across the U.S.

The in-building cells will provide 10 WeWork spaces with efficient, ultra-fast,  5G service.

5G networks are set to play a fundamental role in transforming digital user experiences, facilitating next generation connectivity and allowing customers to access revolutionary network speeds.

With an increasingly broad number of sectors turning to WeWork for flexible space solutions, WeWork is always looking for ways to accommodate the needs of a wide variety of users. Whether it be early stage startups and entrepreneurs, non-profits, Fortune 500 companies, or higher education institutions – all types of organizations utilizing these select WeWork locations will be able to use these ultra-fast networks going forward, whatever their needs may be.

Why does 5G matter?

As WeWork member businesses grow and develop, access to 5G technology will eventually provide them with scalability to manage massive numbers of devices, greater bandwidth and lower latency. With new technologies and applications emerging on a daily basis, these networks will also provide WeWork members with the ability to utilize emerging technologies that rely on 5G capabilities.

“As the last several months have shown, the demand for flexible space solutions, accompanied with the  ability to connect to reliable, fast networks, has never been more valuable. That is why WeWork, a leader in flexible space, is partnering with companies like Verizon, to elevate the quality of business solutions available to members in our spaces so that they are able to run and grow their business’’, said Hamid Hashemi, Chief Product and Experience Officer at WeWork

“In order to move the cloud into an organization’s facility, they must first have access to the fastest 5G in the marketplace,” said Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business. “By combining access to our 5G Ultra Wideband indoors, with a private MEC platform to bring the power of the cloud into a business’ facility, and a private core that helps to run the operations of the Network, an enterprise will be able to have a secure, ultra-reliable, high-speed, low-latency private 5G solution.”
