Sydney, 1 June 2022: Immutable, the Australian gaming and NFT (non-fungible token) trading startup, today announced a partnership with global flexible workspace company, WeWork, adopting WeWork All Access to support its global operations.
Immutable’s announcement follows a year of substantial growth and a $2.5 billion valuation following its most recent $200 million Series C funding round. With over 250 staff across the world and ambitions to double their headcount over the next year, Immutable is creating a destination for people to achieve excellence, do meaningful work and join a global team where they belong and feel connected. WeWork All Access will complement the company’s Sydney headquarters and offer Immutable’s rapidly growing team access to WeWork’s national portfolio and global network.
For Australia’s first crypto unicorn, the move is part of its remote-first workplace initiative, which prioritises flexibility while offering a consistent employee experience to its team members. Partnering with WeWork will allow the Immutable team to access 700+ WeWork locations, working where and how they choose to.
As a company in a fast growing industry, it is crucial to attract and retain the best talent to drive innovation and growth. Over the last two years, flexibility has moved to the top of the priority list for job seekers. Immutable’s flexible workplace approach will help retain and expand the exceptional talent pool wherever they are located, giving them liberty and autonomy in the workspace.
While employees around the world are slowly getting back to the office, WeWork’s All Access not only provides a physical space for employees to connect wherever is most convenient for them, but also a place where creativity and collaboration isn’t limited but encouraged. Immutable employees will have access to meeting rooms, study nooks, collaborative breakout spaces as well as complementary events programming and wellness activities.
Launched by WeWork in 2020, WeWork All Access is a monthly subscription-based product which provides enhanced flexibility to workspace worldwide and complements WeWork’s core office space business as organisations adapt to new hybrid models to attract and retain top talent. At the close of the first quarter 2022, All Access memberships increased to 55,000, an increase of 22% quarter-over-quarter.
Kath Rau, Chief People Officer at Immutable, said: “While growing, one of the main concerns for a company is championing the culture and giving enough flexibility to its employees so they can grow as well. With WeWork All Access, our team can work from 700+ locations in the world, at their convenience, and benefit from a creative and hard-working community. We hope that this partnership will induce more talents to join us and enjoy our new remote-first workplace policy”
Balder Tol, General Manager, Australia and Southeast Asia at WeWork, said: “We are delighted to welcome Immutable to WeWork and partner with them to provide the workspace flexibility they need. A leader in Australian-born technology innovation with an incredible international growth trajectory, Immutable is a great example of a remote-first business recognising that access to workspace worldwide is a critical resource that enables connection, innovation and culture to thrive.”
