Inside WeWork Paris: 5 Historic Buildings Reimagined for Work

Step back in time, and take a stroll through WeWork’s historic Parisian workplaces designed for a smarter way to work.

Trudaine

Paris is a city pulsing with creativity, beauty, and history. It draws businesses to build, nomads to settle, and leaders to think beyond the obvious.

That same energy can be found thrumming from Parisian sidewalk cafes, flowing from bridges over the Seine, and humming between arrondissements. You’ll find that energy harnessed at WeWork locations throughout the city.

Paris is home to some of WeWork’s most iconic locations—where contemporary workspaces and fascinating historical heritage collide. From Thomas Jefferson’s former Champs-Élysées residence to a Jesuit college turned workspace and a Marais landmark alive with art and culture, these buildings invite members to daydream—and deliver.

Discover the little-known history behind five of WeWork’s most storied Parisian addresses, home to more thousands of members.

92 Champs-Élysées

Once home to the Hôtel de Langeac, built in 1768 for Louis Phélypeaux, Comte de Saint-Florentin, this elegant residence hosted none other than Thomas Jefferson, then U.S. Minister to France and future President of the United States. From 1785 to 1789, Jefferson welcomed Parisian intellectuals and political figures here, strengthening the Franco-American ties that would shape the centuries to come.

Though the original mansion was demolished in 1842, its spirit endures today in WeWork 92 Champs-Élysées, a workspace as elegant as its address. With its refined, modern design and unparalleled location on Paris’s most famous avenue, the building captures the prestige of its past while meeting the needs of today’s professionals.

7 Rue de Madrid

Built in 1876 by architect Auguste Tronquois, this 19th-century building was originally home to the Collège Saint-Ignace, a Jesuit school that once shaped the city’s academic and spiritual life. Nestled in the heart of the 8th arrondissement’s European quarter, WeWork 7 Rue de Madrid embodies Paris’s long-standing dialogue between education, culture, and renewal.

The site was recently reimagined by Dubuisson Architecture, transforming the heritage building into a contemporary workspace that blends elegance with environmental performance. Featuring 1,000 m² of green spaces and terraces, the project emphasizes sustainability and wellbeing. Inside, Spanish-inspired materials and colors merge with classic Parisian limestone, creating a refined balance between history and modernity.

Today, the building adds over 2,000 workstations to WeWork’s network, reinforcing the brand’s presence in this strategic and sophisticated neighborhood.

37 Avenue Trudaine

WeWork 37 Avenue Trudaine, Paris 9e

At the corner of Avenue Trudaine and Rue Bochart de Saron, this striking 1863 building by architect Juste Lisch once housed the École de la Chambre de Commerce et de l’Industrie de Paris. Its renovation incorporated remarkable features, including a spectacular glass dome that floods the central atrium with natural light—a centerpiece that gives the space its airy, uplifting feel.

The WeWork Design team drew inspiration from the eclectic energy of SoPi (South Pigalle) in the 9th arrondissement, crafting an environment that feels as dynamic as the district itself. Warm walnut tones, sleek lines, and subtle nods to the nearby Gare du Nord—such as custom TGV-inspired lighting—evoke the movement, rhythm, and creative energy of Paris.

Every detail has been carefully considered to foster connection and innovation in a setting that mirrors the district’s lively and forward-thinking spirit.

Cœur Marais

 WeWork Coeur Marais, Paris 3e

In the heart of the Marais, one of Paris’s oldest and most artistic neighborhoods, WeWork Cœur Marais sits at the crossroads of heritage and innovation—mirroring the district’s transformation from an aristocratic residential quarter to a vibrant hub for art, fashion, and commerce.

The interiors pay tribute to the area’s timeless elegance, blending historic architectural details with a modern, minimalist aesthetic that celebrates creativity and collaboration. Flooded with natural light, the building’s open spaces and refined materials create a setting where past and present intertwine.

More than a workspace, it’s an invitation to experience the Marais as Parisians do: surrounded by beauty, culture, and an ever-present sense of inspiration.

40 Rue du Colisée

WeWork 40 Rue du Colisée, Paris 8e

Just steps away from the Champs-Élysées once stood Le Colisée, a grand entertainment hall that opened in 1771. Inspired by Roman architecture, it was one of the most dazzling venues of its time—a setting for concerts, balls, and spectacular events that captured the spirit of 18th-century Parisian society. Though the original building disappeared in the 19th century, its legacy remains as a symbol of celebration and creativity.

Today, WeWork 40 Rue du Colisée continues that tradition, offering a sophisticated workspace where collaboration and innovation thrive. Set in a district long associated with artistry and elegance, the site reflects both the historic glamour and modern ambition that define Paris itself.
