Who knew that the intersection of their two passions in Geography and Global Health would lead them to start a business together?<\/p>\n<p>They all realized that geographic tools and analytics are extremely underutilized in public health, so this inspired Anna and Hannah to start designing projects, pilot them, and eventually build out their idea to launch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.broadstreetmaps.org\/\">Broad Street Maps<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The Seattle-based startup Broad Street Maps makes maps that improve the delivery of healthcare to people in need. They work collaboratively with NGOs and community health organizations in five countries. Their mapping projects have helped NGOs in two ways: as tools for decision-making and as compelling, visual communication materials.<\/p>\n<p>We were lucky to go behind the scenes in their South Lake Union office with these entrepreneurial geographers.
