The firm has developed a rather impressive list of clients, including companies such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fedex.com\/us\/\">FedEx<\/a>, Givenchy, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unitedway.org\/\">United Way<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-44.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"922\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6838\" alt=\"20140430 Sophia Bilynsky Alleycat Design-44\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-44.jpg?resize=1280%2C922\" data-wp-pid=\"6838\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This Creative Director\u2019s space is filled with inspirational objects and furniture from a variety of cultures, leading her to describe the office as both \u201cmodern\u201d and \u201centertaining&#8221;. The impact Bilynsky has on others is also apparent in the space, as many of her unique office elements were gifts from loving friends and appreciative clients.<\/p>\n<p>We chatted with Sophia Bilynsky for the first edition of The Desktop \u2014 a new series that highlights interesting (and always inviting) offices at WeWork. It\u2019s supposed to ward off the evil eye! We worked together in Istanbul years ago and have been close friends ever since. It\u2019s given me insight to what inspires each designer and they explain why each project is special to them.<\/p>\n<p><em>Good Design by Terry Marks with Matthew Porter:\u00a0<\/em>This is a go-to for me when I feel challenged or need some inspiration. It\u2019s great to hear what these global design leaders have to say about what defines good design.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dan Friedman: Radical Modernism:<\/em> I truly respect this designer, artist, furniture designer, and teacher. He\u2019s had a huge influence on me as a professional. He sees design and beauty in every aspect of his life, and he continues to experiment and push the \u201cnorm\u201d. A true Renaissance man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-30.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6847\" alt=\"20140430 Sophia Bilynsky Alleycat Design-30\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-30.jpg?resize=1280%2C853\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" data-wp-pid=\"6847\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flensted-mobiles.com\/\">Flensted Mobile<\/a> from a family design business in Denmark. I found it in an interior design store in Philly. I loved the soft movements and the balance of the red ball. Red was my mother\u2019s favorite color and this one spoke to me after she passed away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-17.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6850\" alt=\"20140430 Sophia Bilynsky Alleycat Design-17\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-17.jpg?resize=1280%2C853\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" data-wp-pid=\"6850\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I always have chewy ginger candies lying around. It\u2019s healthy, satisfies my sweet tooth, and gives me a boost of energy in the afternoon instead of coffee. Occasionally, I\u2019ll sneak in some jelly beans!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-9.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6851\" alt=\"20140430 Sophia Bilynsky Alleycat Design-9\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/20140430-Sophia-Bilynsky-Alleycat-Design-9.jpg?resize=1280%2C853\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" data-wp-pid=\"6851\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.girardstudio.com\/\">Alexander Girard<\/a> wood print was a thank you gift from a client for my office. I feel fortunate to have a client who also appreciates beautiful and functional design as much as I do.\u00a0Many of our projects have dealt with environment and sustainability \u2013 similar to the theme of this particular graphic on plywood created for Herman Miller.
