In fact, from the opening of the first WeWork buildings in\u00a0Manila, Philippines<\/a>, and\u00a0Warsaw, Poland<\/a>\u00a0in January<\/a>, to recent inaugural locations in Milan, Italy<\/a>; Oslo, Norway<\/a>; and Hyderabad, India<\/a>, WeWork expanded to many new cities this year<\/a>. WeWork\u2019s top 10 Instagram posts of 2019 exemplify this worldwide reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A global realm of work, travel, and life unites on WeWork\u2019s Instagram account. \u201cWe’re reimagining the possibilities of work and celebrating what it means to make a life, not just a living,\u201d says Hannah VanderWeide, WeWork\u2019s social media manager. \u201cPeople engage because it spurs a feeling of \u2018I want to do that\/be there.’ It\u2019s about the things they aspire to\u2014people, places, and experiences alike.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These spaces aren\u2019t just for pleasure-seeking\u2014one study found<\/a> that natural features increase well-being by 15 percent, productivity by 6 percent, and creativity by 15 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It isn\u2019t all fun and games, though: The oceans absorb almost a third<\/a> of global carbon emissions, which WeWork is committed to reducing<\/a> through sustainability efforts such as the elimination of single-use plastics<\/a> and being fully carbon neutral<\/a> by 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So they started small by putting pens and sticky notes in the bathrooms and wrote, \u201cYou\u2019re beautiful\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019re capable.\u201d Members replied with messages like \u201cWe got this\u201d\u2014and just like that, authentic conversation was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WeWork opened in historic manufacturing city Nagoya, Japan<\/a>, this year, a sign that demand for creative coworking spaces is growing globally. Drawn by the sense of community, flexibility, and enhanced productivity, flexible workspaces outside the United States increased by 36 percent<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, nearly 20 WeWork locations across the United States played host to training sessions<\/a> led by WeWork member VoteRunLead, which taught women how to run for office and win. This quote, posted on International Women\u2019s Day<\/a>, reminds us of the organization\u2019s mission, which started in 2014 when founder Erin Vilardi<\/a> decided she wanted to increase the number of women and people of color<\/a> who hold elected positions in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
