Our employees celebrated that spirit of inclusion by participating in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BkLQv_tlelh\/\">20 Pride events around the world<\/a>, including New York City\u2019s Heritage of Pride parade.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/12\/Plants.jpg\" alt=\"Plants\" class=\"wp-image-3000002424\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"growing-our-community\">Growing our community<\/h2>\n<p>Our spaces are meant to inspire and foster creative thinking, so it\u2019s no surprise to hear from Lia Zneimer, who oversees the international social media team, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bh11bqml2JF\/\">photos featuring greenery<\/a>\u2014like this one captured in Shanghai\u2014natural wood, and lots of sunlight perform especially well.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/12\/Diwali.jpg\" alt=\"Diwali\" class=\"wp-image-3000002425\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"light-over-darkness\"><strong>Light over darkness<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bp4t9rUnnUH\/\">This image<\/a> celebrated Diwali, a Hindu holiday representing the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and awareness over ignorance. One of WeWork\u2019s six core values, \u201cTogether,\u201d shines through in the photo, which highlights communities coming together to celebrate, learn, and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/12\/Madrid.jpg\" alt=\"Madrid\" class=\"wp-image-3000002426\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"touring-with-a-local\"><strong>Touring with a local<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Over the course of eight years, WeWork has expanded into 99 cities throughout the world, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Booo_78HLlR\/\">Madrid<\/a>. When we open in a new market, we often invite local employees to take over our Instagram Story to share their favorite spots. What started as a grassroots movement led by local teams grew into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/blog\/posts\/wework-commits-to-being-carbon-neutral-by-2023\">broader conversation<\/a> about conscious citizenship. In September, WeWork announced a pledge to eliminate single-use plastics.
