He had cerebral palsy, and his old-fashioned walker didn\u2019t let him get around easily. So the friends at the University of Sheffield came up with a prototype for the \u201cworld\u2019s f<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">irst truly off-road posterior walking aid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe want all kids to be able to play football on the field with their mates,\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Morgan says. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/10\/Exyo-walker-for-off-roading-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Design of Exyo, London Creator Awards Winner\" class=\"wp-image-28869\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their company <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/exyo.co.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exyo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (short for \u201cexpress yourself\u201d) creates a new style of walker that\u2019s \u201credesigned from the ground up.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The curved frame was designed with a windsurfer in mind. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16-inch wheels are similar to those on BMX bikes. The suspension system is so innovative they\u2019ve applied for a patent.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe had to make it look as cool as possible,\u201d says Morgan. \u201cWe thought if we were going to make this, it should look like something we\u2019d want to use, not something looks like it\u2019s used in hospital.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After four prototypes, they are ready to roll.
