Providing you with that essential information is the goal of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenome.com\/\">LifeNome<\/a>, founded by Raya Khanin and Ali Mostashari. \u201cEverything about you is locked in your genes,\u201d says the 41-year-old Mostashari. \u201cScience has been progressing since the human genome was first sequenced in 2002. We\u2019re just getting to the point where we can understand how genetics impact our wellness traits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"810\" width=\"1440\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/Raya-Khanin-and-Ali-Mostashari-2.jpg?resize=1440%2C810\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23971\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>The fun thing about building your own ladder is that you don&#8217;t have to step over anyone when going up,&#8221; says Ali Mostashari. &#8220;The only thing that matters is that each step takes you higher.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>How does LifeNome work? You mail in a saliva sample, which is carefully analyzed in a lab. The result is 50 to 60 megabytes of information. \u201cOur results are based on thousands of scientific studies, each of them looking at an individual genetic trait,\u201d says Mostashari, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/times-square\">WeWork Times Square<\/a> member. \u201cThey tell you what sets you apart\u2014the genetic variations that are uniquely you.\u201d With a doctorate from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Khanin is highly regarded for her work in genetics. Mostashari, with a doctorate from MIT, is skilled at big data analytics.
