But his biggest success was not worth mentioning, as far as business publications are concerned. \u201cMagazines like <em>Inc.<\/em>, <em>Entrepreneur<\/em>, <em>Fast Company<\/em>\u2014so many of them focus on who\u2019s going to be the next billionaire,\u201d says Ray, a WeWork member based at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/penn-station\">Penn Station<\/a>. \u201cI just said to myself, \u2018Who\u2019s covering the small guys?\u2019\u201d So he launched his latest startup, a digital and print magazine called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smarthustle.com\/\">Smart Hustle<\/a>. It covers \u201centrepreneurs who still need to write their own checks and know their own bank balances,\u201d says Ray. \u201cYou know, people like me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/10\/Ramon-Ray-of-Smart-Hustle-Magazine-1-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Ramon Ray\" class=\"wp-image-23662\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>It\u2019s important to know how to bring people together to execute your ideas. Hire the right people for the things you need to get done, and just do it.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ray didn\u2019t have a background in publishing, but he didn\u2019t let that stop him. \u201cI surrounded myself with smart people,\u201d he says. \u201cI have a butt-kicking designer and a great editorial team.\u201d In the meantime, he\u2019s written hundreds of articles about business and is the author of three books, including the bestselling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Facebook-Guide-Small-Business-Marketing\/dp\/0470875208\">Facebook Guide to Small Business Marketing<\/a>. He\u2019s a frequent speaker at business conferences, and hosts annual events like the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smarthustle.com\/conference\/\">Smart Hustle Small Business Conference<\/a>.
