When he describes them, each one seems like his favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have a fixed-gear daily driver, which is black and simple and fun,\u201d says Marra, a member at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/studio-square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork Studio Square<\/a>. \u201cIt keeps pedaling even when you stop pedaling. When I want to do the spirited ride, it\u2019s very responsive. You lean into it, and it has that nice handling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His second bike is a gear up from his first: a durable 29\u2019er mountain bike that is \u201cindestructible in potholes.\u201d His third is the \u201cFerrari of bikes,\u201d a carbon fiber road bike from the Italian brand Bianchi. He never leaves it unattended because it \u201ccost more than my first car.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/09\/Side-Hustle-Cruising-Through-New-York-with-Bike-Evangelist-Chad-Marra2.jpg\" alt=\"side-hustle-cruising-through-new-york-with-bike-evangelist-chad-marra2\" class=\"wp-image-23455\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why Marra\u2019s side hustle is being the first New York City-based brand ambassador for <a href=\"http:\/\/fortifiedbike.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fortified Bicycle<\/a>, a startup founded by Tivan Amour, a sales hacker, inventor, and University of Pennsylvania graduate; and Vlad Pick, a maker, product designer, and Bard College graduate. The company is creating durable and lightweight bikes that are designed with theft-deterrent bolts that lock down the seats and wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been biking my whole life, but aggressively picked it up in college,\u201d says Marra, a senior account executive at the multimedia and technology company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curseinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Curse<\/a>. When he\u2019s not working his day job, he\u2019s setting up meetings with clients to test ride the bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These meetings usually take place at <a href=\"http:\/\/lic.thecliffsclimbing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Cliffs<\/a>, a huge rock climbing gym in Long Island City. Marra\u2019s passionate about Fortified Bicycle\u2019s philosophy on minimizing the number of stolen bikes, even replacing them within 24 hours if they do get stolen. He\u2019s also impressed with how well they are designed and built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/Side-Hustle-Cruising-Through-New-York-with-Bike-Evangelist-Chad-Marra3.jpg?resize=400%2C400\" alt=\"side-hustle-cruising-through-new-york-with-bike-evangelist-chad-marra3\" class=\"wp-image-23456\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe main thing that makes Fortified Bike unique is that the frame is aluminum, so it\u2019s not going to corrode,\u201d Marra says. \u201cThe tires are puncture resistant, and there\u2019s a bolt system with its own special pattern, so there\u2019s nothing you can put on the bike to take it apart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Marra\u2019s favorite pastimes is biking down Broadway and catching all the green lights from Columbus Circle and heading downtown.
