Neither knew that&nbsp;a sweet friendship was just beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cantafio is in marketing and business development at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brisaningredients.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brisan<\/a>, a food and beverage ingredients expert. Shipley is the senior copywriter at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quill<\/a>, the giant online retailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI told him that I was working on content for my website,\u201d says Cantafio. \u201cHe said he&#8217;d love to help. So finally, after six weeks, I took him up on his offer to help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For providing his copy editing expertise, Shipley receives homemade treats from Cantafio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/08\/Chocolate-Mousse-Bonds-Two-Colleagues-and-Here\u2019s-the-Recipe2-400x571.jpg\" alt=\"Chocolate Mousse Bonds Two Colleagues (and Here\u2019s the Recipe!)2\" class=\"wp-image-23039\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTom&#8217;s help started out small, with a paragraph or two, and has grown to larger articles,\u201d Cantafio says. \u201cI started repaying him in basic chocolate chip cookies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This barter system seemed to work for both of them, so they continued it after Shipley began doing more projects for Cantafio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince his work has gotten more involved,\u201d Cantafio explains, \u201cI make him fancier desserts to reimburse him for his help\u2011items, like tart lemon bars swirled with a blueberry coulis and a toasted coconut-brown butter crust&nbsp;and dark chocolate mousse with Madagascar vanilla bean Chantilly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And how did those baked goods taste?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIncredible,\u201d Shipley says. \u201cThe most unique payment of services that I&#8217;ve received.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/08\/Chocolate-Mousse-Bonds-Two-Colleagues-and-Here\u2019s-the-Recipe4-400x571.jpg\" alt=\"Chocolate Mousse Bonds Two Colleagues (and Here\u2019s the Recipe!)4\" class=\"wp-image-23041\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At WeWork, all kinds of interactions take place in the communal areas of each floor. Shipley says people who would never ordinarily meet have encountered each other to \u201cpick each other&#8217;s brains and gain insights and ideas they&#8217;d otherwise miss out on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cantafio\u2019s recipe sounded so good that we asked her if she\u2019d share with the rest of the WeWork community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/08\/Chocolate-Mousse-Bonds-Two-Colleagues-and-Here\u2019s-the-Recipe3-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Chocolate Mousse Bonds Two Colleagues (and Here\u2019s the Recipe!)3\" class=\"wp-image-23040\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2  id=\"dark-chocolate-mousse-with-madagascar-vanilla-bean-chantilly\"class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dark chocolate mousse with Madagascar vanilla bean chantilly<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For dark chocolate mousse <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14 ounces cold heavy whipping cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 large egg whites<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 ounce cane sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For vanilla chantilly <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 ounces cold heavy whipping cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 tablespoons confectioners sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 teaspoons pure vanilla<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garnish with shaved bittersweet chocolate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place chocolate in a large heat\u00adproof bowl and set over a double boiler at a low simmer. Stir chocolate until melted. Take off the heat and let sit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a mixer, beat the cold cream until soft peaks form. Set aside. Clean mixer thoroughly, then whip egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add the sugar and continue whipping until firm peaks form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the egg whites\u2014all at once\u2014into the chocolate, which should be slightly cooled and nearly room temperature by now. When the whites are almost fully incorporated, fold in the whipped cream. Cover the mousse and refrigerate for at least an hour. Serve in glass mason jars topped with Chantilly and shaved chocolate. Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expert Tip 1: Before whipping the cream, chill the mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10 minutes.
