But he\u2019s also eager to showcase his fashion sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to design a classic combo around a hoodie and dress shirt,\u201d says the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/san-francisco\/transbay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork Transbay<\/a> member. \u201cIt\u2019s a bug I\u2019ve had in my brain for a long time. I wanted a classic look with a twist\u2014almost like you wouldn\u2019t notice the hoodie at first.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He gets to show off his handiwork through a <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.betabrand.com\/wework\" target=\"_blank\">design competition<\/a> open to all WeWork members. Sponsored by <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.betabrand.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Betabrand<\/a>, which specializes in innovative apparel, the objective of the contest is to design the most comfortable workwear that\u2019s versatile and practical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Betabrand + WeWork Design Contest\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eYbek4yJrq4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Julia Marino, Betabrand\u2019s think tank content manager, says the reason for inviting the WeWork community to submit designs is to give creators an outlet to unleash their creativity. It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re an engineer or coder or marketing specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of people work in creative fields or have creative minds, but they aren\u2019t fashion designers,\u201d Marino says. \u201cWhat\u2019s fun about my job and the contest is that I get to see these ideas from people who don\u2019t normally put clothing designs out into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner will be the submission that receives the most votes. The prize? A $1,000 shopping spree with Betabrand. Betabrand may still choose to manufacture products based on all the ideas submitted, regardless of whether the design is voted as the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/07\/Want-to-Design-Cool-Work-Clothes-Betabrand-Has-a-Contest-for-You2-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Want to Design Cool Work Clothes? Betabrand Has a Contest for You2\" class=\"wp-image-22273\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Doc Pop\u2019s advice for those who plan to enter is to get it done fast and make it simple. He says the biggest hurdle to submitting a design is overthinking and making it complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t do anything that gets so complicated that you never submit it,\u201d he says. \u201cYou can even submit something that\u2019s text-based. The important thing is hitting that submit button and not worrying about everything being perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions will be accepted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betabrand.com\/submission\/?contest=WeWork\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online<\/a> through the end of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WeWork members receive&nbsp;20 percent off site-wide on Betabrand.com from July 16 through&nbsp;August 31.
