Playing fun, classic board games isn\u2019t just a way for this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/boston\/fort-point\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork Fort Point<\/a> member to unwind\u2014it helps him raise funds for a great cause. Read on to learn all about McKee\u2019s favorite games, supporting coders in need, and finding the best bites in Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You\u2019re coordinating a fun event for fellow WeWorkers to help raise funds for charity\u2014specifically, a <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/boardgamenight.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Board Game Night<\/strong><\/a><strong> that started at WeWork Fort Point in Boston that\u2019s grown so much that <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/boston\/south-station\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WeWork South Station<\/strong><\/a><strong> has to accommodate all of the attendees, with donations going to <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.resilientcoders.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Resilient Coders<\/strong><\/a><strong> who teach young people in underserved communities how to code. What inspired you to get that started?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My CEO is in love with board games. And he\u2019s also the technical advisor for Resilient Coders. And I love going to events, so it was all three points meeting at one central idea. How can we make networking events better and also make a difference? So that\u2019s where Board Game Night started. We wanted to have a cool new way to have organic relationships start over fun games. And if we can help raise money for Resilient Coder, even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/06\/In-Boston-Playing-Board-Games-to-Fund-the-Next-Generation-of-Coders2-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"In Boston, Playing Board Games to Fund the Next Generation of Coders2\" class=\"wp-image-21689\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When you\u2019re <em>not<\/em> planning amazing board game nights for fellow WeWork members, you work at <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/eastcoastproduct.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>East Coast Product<\/strong><\/a><strong>. What\u2019s that like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a lot of fun. So a little background on East Coast Product: we are a digital product agency that works to enhance existing teams with the app development cycle\u2014everything from strategy, to design, to user testing, to development. And it\u2019s a lot of fun because I get to work with companies of all shapes and sizes and help them realize their dreams! I get to work with new ideas every month. I can\u2019t stress enough how awesome my job is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/06\/In-Boston-Playing-Board-Games-to-Fund-the-Next-Generation-of-Coders3-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"In Boston, Playing Board Games to Fund the Next Generation of Coders3\" class=\"wp-image-21690\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you were stuck in an elevator with a handful of your favorite people, and could only bring three board games, what games would you bring?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, boy! That\u2019s a tough one. I really like the games that have some sort of level of intrigue: at a previous job, we used to play Werewolf every single day. So Werewolf, definitely. And I like games that inspire creativity, so I\u2019d bring a game called Telestrations. And I can\u2019t deny a classic, like Settlers of Catan<em>. <\/em>I think there\u2019s a reason why it\u2019s been so successful for so long!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/06\/In-Boston-Playing-Board-Games-to-Fund-the-Next-Generation-of-Coders4-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"In Boston, Playing Board Games to Fund the Next Generation of Coders4\" class=\"wp-image-21692\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are some of your favorite hidden gems around Boston?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By far, my favorite place to get cocktails is a place called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drinkfortpoint.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drink<\/a>. It\u2019s a real speakeasy-type place, where they have no drink menu at all. You go in, tell the bartender what you\u2019re in the mood for, and they try to accommodate you. I\u2019m also a big fan of seafood and oysters, and <a href=\"http:\/\/row34.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Row 34<\/a> is just really fantastic seafood\u2014some of the best oysters I\u2019ve ever had. And both of these places are within a block of WeWork Fort Point!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If <em>Ideas by We<\/em> readers want to join in Board Game Night, can they? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah!
