Their company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flyjetget.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JetGet<\/a> is a year old\u2014\u201cone year <em>young<\/em>,\u201d says Alex, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/nomad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork NoMad<\/a> member in charge of operations and marketing. Below, Alex talks about how he and his older brother Sam, JetGet\u2019s founder, are putting a dent in the private aviation industry, helping travelers gain back their time while flying in luxury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What inspired you guys to create JetGet?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial idea wasn\u2019t necessarily to do flights to the Hamptons. The idea was to create a ride-sharing community similar to Uber to break into the private aviation market. We knew there was a big gap between flying first class and flying private. We believe that we figured out the right way to do it, which was to not own the planes. There\u2019s too many operations costs involved with owning a plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who\u2019s the ideal JetGetter?<br><\/strong><br>Our customer realistically is someone who makes $500,000 plus a year, ages 30 to 60 plus. Generally, people who have the extra money and like to enjoy themselves, and they have the time as well. Oh actually, they <em>don\u2019t<\/em> necessarily have the time, which is part of the problem. Because they\u2019re so busy that time\u2019s worth money to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/05\/Got-a-Plane-to-Catch-Plush-Up-the-Experience-with-JetGet2-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Got a Plane to Catch? Plush Up the Experience with JetGet2\" class=\"wp-image-21562\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All of these flights\u2014you\u2019re exiting a major city like New York. Why is it so important to get out of the city sometimes?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a beautiful city\u2014everyone loves the hustle\u2014but then on the weekends, people like to take a break. We realized that, and we realized the traffic was a big problem. Our competitors launched using helicopters. When you ride a helicopter, it\u2019s very, very cramped. You\u2019re squeezing people in through the back\u2014not so much of a luxury experience. All of our planes have individual captain seats, so very comfortable. All of our planes are operated by two pilots, so it\u2019s a very comfortable flight and also there\u2019s a lot of safety involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why should someone choose JetGet over another means of transportation? What is the experience like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the summer, we also partnered with a very big vineyard out of the Hamptons called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wolffer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">W\u00f6lffer Estate<\/a>. We\u2019ll be serving their ros\u00e9&nbsp;for our customers when they arrive at the airport. It\u2019s an absolutely amazing ros\u00e9. Everyone loves it. It\u2019s almost a staple in the Hamptons for the summer. It was very hard for us to actually obtain the ros\u00e9&nbsp;because they sell out of it every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That is such a sweet gesture. It makes people that much more excited to travel with you guys. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re a unique, boutique market\u2014I\u2019d say a niche market\u2014it\u2019s the little things that really do matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s an exciting time for the Joseph brothers.
