My Little Pony, Barbie, G.I. Joe\u2014all of them were subject to what she jokingly calls her \u201csartorial proclivity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today the twentysomething designer based in New York\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/nomad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork NoMad<\/a> space, uses her skills at <a href=\"https:\/\/clo3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CLO Virtual Fashion<\/a>, where she helps create true-to-life simulations of clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/06\/Using-3D-CLO\u2019s-Grace-Choi-Envisions-the-Future-of-Fashion2-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21257\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c3D is the future of fashion,\u201d says Choi, and \u201cto be a part of a company at the forefront of this is super exciting!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CLO offers <a href=\"https:\/\/clo3d.com\/pricing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three products<\/a>: CLO Enterprise, focused on larger fashion brands; CLO Atelier, for independent designers and small businesses; and Marvelous Designer, for the computer games and animated films. Familiar with the popular game <em>Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> or films like <em>The Hobbit<\/em> trilogy? Then you\u2019ve already seen Marvelous Designer\u2019s work in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choi says she\u2019s always had a vivid imagination. As a young child, she wanted to be a unicorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t realize they weren\u2019t a real thing,\u201d she says with a laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/05\/Using-3D-CLO\u2019s-Grace-Choi-Envisions-the-Future-of-Fashion3-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Using 3D, CLO\u2019s Grace Choi Envisions the Future of Fashion3\" class=\"wp-image-21279\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By the time she was 12, Choi had decided she wanted to be a singer. As she graduated high school, she was playing piano, violin, clarinet, and guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s been singing, dancing, acting or creating, fashion just seemed like a natural progression,\u201d says Choi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why fashion, though?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFashion is always changing,\u201d she explains. \u201cThere\u2019s something incredible about creating a work that visually expresses your translation of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/05\/Using-3D-CLO\u2019s-Grace-Choi-Envisions-the-Future-of-Fashion4-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Using 3D, CLO\u2019s Grace Choi Envisions the Future of Fashion4\" class=\"wp-image-21281\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As a student at Cornell University, Choi recognized this trend toward 3D technology in the fashion industry and connected with CLO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe rest is history,\u201d she says.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choi learned on the job, combining traditional fashion skills like tracing out patterns with cutting-edge technology like 3D rendering.
