After closely examining the vodka landscape, the entrepreneur spent six years developing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vodkamariette.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vodka Mariette<\/a>,&nbsp;a French-made, all-natural line of vodkas targeting millennial women\u2014the \u201ckey tastemakers\u201d of today, according to Winzelberg, but a demo that\u2019s \u201cnot being sufficiently served.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/Not-Just-a-Pretty-Bottle-This-Vodka-Aims-to-Win-Over-Creatives2-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Not Just a Pretty Bottle, This Vodka Aims to Win Over Creatives2\" class=\"wp-image-19921\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He noticed that products marketed to females tend to be \u201csparkly and low-calorie, when in reality, women are the larger buyer of quality products.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2  id=\"label-design-tips-from-josh-winzelberg\"class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Label design tips from Josh Winzelberg<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/locations\/new-york-city\/nomad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeWork NoMad<\/a>&nbsp;member saw an opportunity to shake up the game by diving into an industry traditionally \u201cdominated by older men\u201d and honing in on young buyers through specific and targeted marketing. In 2014, Winzelberg finally rolled out his line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Available in select liquor stores across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and retailing for about $29 a bottle, Vodka Mariette stands out with its eye-catching packaging in a sleek, \u201cneckless\u201d carafe. Additionally, the brand offers grants for female entrepreneurs as well as an accompanying book club\u2014all means of capturing the attention of the young and creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/Not-Just-a-Pretty-Bottle-This-Vodka-Aims-to-Win-Over-Creatives3-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Not Just a Pretty Bottle, This Vodka Aims to Win Over Creatives3\" class=\"wp-image-19922\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMariette is French for \u2018little rebel,\u2019\u201d Winzelberg explains. \u201cWe\u2019re all about the free-spirited, creative people. It\u2019s a new image and direction for vodka, and we\u2019re amazed at how the market has embraced it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For someone who has sampled many vodkas, Vodka Mariette is \u201cthe smoothest and cleanest\u201d Winzelberg\u2019s ever tasted. He explains that he wouldn\u2019t have gone through with building a business unless it was something \u201ctruly special.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restaurants seem to agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/ideas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/Not-Just-a-Pretty-Bottle-This-Vodka-Aims-to-Win-Over-Creatives4-800x571.jpg\" alt=\"Not Just a Pretty Bottle, This Vodka Aims to Win Over Creatives4\" class=\"wp-image-19923\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re getting into a lot of restaurants, for example, that don\u2019t take flavored vodkas, but they like ours because they\u2019re not embarrassed to have them on their shelves,\u201d he says. \u201cThey\u2019re all natural, so they\u2019re nice and light and not syrupy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winzelberg\u2019s biggest ambition for the vodka line? To make it a staple among the cocktail community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur goal is mixology-driven locations\u2014bars and restaurants\u2014to show how serious we are about great cocktails,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s not just a pretty vodka.
