The next time you use your smartphone to call a car, there might be nobody behind the wheel. Google is planning to use its self-driving cars as part of a new ride-hailing service<\/a> that will go head-to-head with Uber.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg reports that Google\u2019s driverless cars have been tested mostly around San Francisco and Austin. These might become the first cities to benefit from the ride-hailing service, according to a source within Google who emphasized that the \u201cplans are private.\u201d<\/a> The fleets could be used on college campuses, corporate office parks, or military bases, according to Bloomberg.<\/p>\n
