Skills like HTML, programming, and social media are increasingly important in this economy, but instead of telling your next employer what you\u2019re capable of, why not show them?<\/p>\n<p>Here are five ways to get creative and make your CV stand out from the rest:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Make your r<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>sum<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong> <strong>interactive<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Designer Robby Leonardi made waves in 2013 when he turned his r\u00e9sum\u00e9 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rleonardi.com\/interactive-resume\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">into a video game<\/a>. Thanks to a design that looks like a Super Mario Bros. game (complete with levels), prospective employers can scroll through Leonardi\u2019s skills\u2014bucketed out into graphic and web software, scripting and programming language, and 3D and video software\u2014to learn more about his personal and professional interests. More than that, though, they\u2019re getting a firsthand look at Leonardi\u2019s imagination, talent, and sense of humor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Create a \u201cliving r<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>sum<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not a web designer or programmer? Don\u2019t worry. If social media is your forte, you can use those tools and platforms to show off your professional experience. A great example: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/rachaelgking\/the-living-resume\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rachael King<\/a> brought her experience to life with Pinterest. She\u2019s pinned examples of her work, press highlights, YouTube videos, and more. If you\u2019re socially savvy, using those platforms to your advantage can demonstrate your creativity to future employers. (Plus, a living r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is dynamic, constantly evolving to highlight your most recent accomplishments.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Use your favorite sites as inspiration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If there\u2019s a particular website or social media platform that you\u2019re passionate about, why not use it to create your next CV? Web product manager <a href=\"http:\/\/phildub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philippe Dubost<\/a> did just that when he created a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 that looked exactly like an Amazon product page\u2014we\u2019re talking everything down to the littlest detail: reviews, shipping information, and even a \u201cfrequently bought together\u201d section.
