Here, CEO of <a href=\"http:\/\/singlegrain.com\/\">Single Grain<\/a>, Eric Siu, suggests <a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">8 ways to perfect your morning routine<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The benefits of getting out of bed early can\u2019t be denied \u2014 it\u2019s why so many\u00a0top executives are early risers.\u00a0Our days become chaotic quite quickly, but there\u2019s a tranquil feeling in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wework.com\/ideas\/the-morning-routines-of-successful-people\">early mornings<\/a>. When you get up early, very few people will be calling you, emailing you, or texting you.\u00a0With so few distractions, you can enjoy the most important meal of the day (while<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/10\/11\/31-million-americans-skip_n_1005076.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">31 million other Americans skip it<\/a>), and then start your day off strong by working out early (which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/health.usnews.com\/health-news\/blogs\/eat-run\/2013\/09\/23\/6-benefits-to-being-a-morning-exerciser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">increases your mental clarity for 4-10 hours<\/a>). And just imagine the time you can shave off your commute by dodging morning traffic.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Time is your most important asset.\u00a0But it\u2019s still a struggle for many to get up early enough to make the most of it. How do you go about creating a repeatable morning ritual that works? Here are eight ways I\u2019ve found:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Keep your alarm away from your bed.\u00a0<\/strong>This makes it impossible to hit snooze; you\u00a0<em>have<\/em>\u00a0to get up and walk over to your phone. Since you\u2019re up, you\u2019re already that much more committed to staying awake.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Turn all the lights on when you wake up.\u00a0<\/strong>As soon as you get out of bed, turn on all the lights. Your body will probably be angry with you, but it\u2019s an effective way at speeding up the process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Be grateful for something or someone.\u00a0<\/strong>It helps to start the day off on a positive note. Think about someone or something that you\u2019re grateful for. It can be one of your best friends or even something as simple as having electricity.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0Recite your goals.\u00a0<\/strong>With so much going on in our lives, it\u2019s hard to remember what we\u2019re after. Recite your goals to yourself and how you\u2019ll reach them each morning so it\u2019s easier to stay aligned. Studies show that only 40 percent of Americans set New Year\u2019s resolutions and only\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\/new-years-resolution-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eight percent<\/a>\u00a0achieve them.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0Meditate.<\/strong>\u00a0Meditation is a powerful practice for providing your mind with more clarity, less anxiety, more creativity, and less stress. Investing 10 minutes of your time can be extremely beneficial. There have been reports of executives who credit meditation with having the largest impact on their lives.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0Disconnect before bed.\u00a0<\/strong>In an increasingly mobile world, more and more people are taking their mobile devices to bed. The blue light that emanates from these devices\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22526883\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">suppresses melatonin<\/a>, making it tougher for people to sleep. Try disconnecting at least 30 minutes before bed to make it easier to fall asleep.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>7.\u00a0Sleep early.<\/strong>\u00a0Adults need at least seven to nine hours of sleep. Naturally,\u00a0this means you need to sleep earlier if you want to rise early\u00a0and join the\u00a05 a.m.\u00a0club.<a href=\"http:\/\/startupcollective.com\/8-ways-perfect-morning-routine\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Do <em>not<\/em> go back to bed.<\/strong>\u00a0Going back to bed for \u201cjust another five minutes\u201d is an easy trap to fall into. Don\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you haven\u2019t tried it already, give waking up early a shot.
