This was a major impediment, as they couldn\u2019t appeal to their tech savvy customers. Size didn\u2019t matter: companies both large and small struggled with the same difficulties of implementing a social media strategy effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Identifying social media strategy as a real pain point, Brown founded <a href=\"http:\/\/sircle.me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sircle Media<\/a>, a social media strategy firm. Part outsource agency, part alternative community manager, Sircle Media differentiates itself from other similar agencies by offering a spectrum of services. Other agencies lower costs by offering itemized, \u201cplug-in\u201d social media plans, while larger agencies offer consultants, (typically at high price tags), but don\u2019t provide true community management options. Alternatively, many businesses seek to hire in-house community managers, but without people on their teams who understand social media, they often end up making the wrong hires. \u00a0Or worse they hire someone who could be great, but the business lacks any sort of senior level \u201cknow how\u201d to train and keep those employees on staff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/magazine.wework.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/20150217-Adam-Brown-Sircle-19.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11374\" alt=\"--20150217 Adam Brown Sircle-19\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/magazine.wework.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/20150217-Adam-Brown-Sircle-19.jpg?resize=1280%2C853\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" data-wp-pid=\"11374\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sircle, Brown says, is a catchall. \u201cWhen it comes to social media, you want to put out messaging that is authentic to the brand, something that feels human and genuine. Sircle is more like a staffing agency that fills that void.\u201d He says that Sircle stands apart mainly because it avoids the cookie cutter approach to social media. \u201cA lot of people think social media is a marketing vertical\u2014it\u2019s not. \u00a0It is more of a horizontal layer that touches all parts of your business.\u00a0 Sure, it is rooted in marketing, but it is much more holistic in nature.\u201d \u00a0Although social media isn\u2019t necessarily pure marketing, Brown feels very strongly that it does generate sales and much of it can be traced back to a real ROI and KPI\u2019s- both of which are true marketing terms. \u201cMuch if it is very measurable and trackable making it much more attractive than traditional marketing aimed at moving the needle for a brand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown says the biggest challenge for Sircle so far has been that some people don\u2019t understand the importance and\/or impact of social media. \u201cMore often than you would think, we are just speaking with the wrong person. \u00a0A lot of senior marketing members at companies aren\u2019t even on social media personally, so talking about this stuff is completely foreign to them. \u00a0Sometimes it\u2019s the younger staff members who really understand the merits of outsourcing the company\u2019s social media strategy and are giving the nudge to dive in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What Brown loves most about his work at Sircle is that it constantly allows him to be creative with different brands. \u201cI get to play entrepreneur on various projects daily, and that\u2019s what excites me.
