Among the report\u2019s key takeaways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI adoption continues to grow, while expectations are becoming more measured. 21.7% of U.S. businesses used AI in July 2026, up from 17.7% in January, even as expected growth over the next six months moderated.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A clear divide remains by company size and industry. 38.8% of the largest firms use AI, compared with 20.8% of the smallest firms, underscoring a significant adoption gap by business size.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AI is primarily augmenting everyday work. 85.4% of firms whose employees use generative AI apply it to writing and editing, making it the most common use case by a wide margin.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its impact on work is currently greater than its impact on workforce size. 95.7% of AI-using firms report no AI-related change to headcount, suggesting the technology is changing how work gets done more than how many people do it.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For many businesses, the biggest barrier remains relevance. 61.6% of businesses that do not plan to use AI in the next six months say it is because AI is not applicable to their business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With a global footprint supporting businesses across industries and stages of growth, WeWork brings a real-world lens to how emerging technologies like AI are translating into changes in workforce needs, business operations and real estate strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWeWork sits at the intersection of workforce behavior, business growth and real estate, giving us a unique vantage point into how AI-driven change is reshaping not only how companies operate, but where, how and at what scale they choose to work,\u201d said Luke Robinson, Regional President for North America at WeWork. \u201cFor business leaders, artificial intelligence has implications far beyond technology. Differences by company size, industry and use case suggest there is no single path to AI adoption, and no uniform impact on the workplace.
