MyCustomizer wins a chance to work with L’Oréal

When he heard that executives from cosmetics giant L’Oréal were going to be at an upcoming pitch competition, Montreal entrepreneur Renaud Teasdale realized it would be a good opportunity to get some face time. Turns out his company, MyCustomizer, ended up being one of the winners.

It was a nerve-wracking experience, but Teasdale says all of the practice pitching in front of family and friends paid off.

“Five minutes before the pitch, you get really nervous,” says Teasdale, a WeWork Place Ville Marie member. “But we practiced like 300 times, so we knew we had done everything we could to be ready. It might sound cliché, but you have to convert your stress into positive energy.”

At the event, sponsored by InnoBahn, companies competed for a chance to work with Ubisoft, GP3R, or L’Oréal. MyCustomizer won the chance to work with L’Oréal on a pilot project.

“If things work out, they will use our technology in all their stores,” Teasdale says. “Our team is stoked to work with such a prestigious brand. We already support giants like New Balance and Suunto. L’Oréal is going to be another big win!”

MyCustomizer helps companies build engaging customization platforms for online consumers. They focus on quick and easy ways for customers to purchase products online.

“Our team spent the last six years designing, coding, and supporting online customizers for major brands,” Teasdale says. “We take care of technology, so you can focus on what you do best: building and selling great custom products.”
