L.A.’s seven best places to meet for coffee

The coffee scene in Los Angeles is all over the map—there are plenty of places for the simple pour over, or if you want a fancy latte spiked with lavender, we’ve got a specialist for that, too. Some cafes have marvelous almond concoctions, while others are ideal if you want a hearty brunch along with your brew. Here’s a list of L.A.’s best spots to meet over a cup of joe.

Go Get Em’ Tiger

This Larchmont sensation brews up refined cups of caffeine. It’s an ideal choice for the lactose intolerant, because Go Get Em’ Tiger does a lovely almond milk macchiato or a macadamia nut latte. The breezy Windsor Square cafe also has great Danish pastries and biscuits.

G&B Coffee

The iced sweet latte is the must-try beverage at Glanville & Babinski. Owners Charles Babinski and Kyle Glanville are both award-winning baristas, and their skills show through in their frothy creations.

Copa Vida

An airy corner cafe store in Pasadena, Copa Vida is the neighborhood place that’s perfect for getting work done. The coffee is expertly brewed, and the teas are concocted with heavy machinery. It has an Alpha Dominche Steampunk machine (which reportedly costs around $15,000) to help with the brewing process.

Café Demitasse

This quirky Little Tokyo joint roasts its own beans in Downtown Los Angeles. Café Demitasse has a fancy siphon coffee brewer to bring out the best of the beans. You can either enjoy your coffee bare and black, or opt for more unconventional selections like an oatmeal latte or a lavender hot chocolate.

Lavender & Honey

This whimsical cafe offers lavender-infused and honey-sweetened lattes. It’s overwhelmingly cute in Lavender & Honey. The breads are tasty, and the staff makes an extremely photogenic toast topped with goat cheese, sprinkled with lavender, and a mad drizzle of honey.

Verve Coffee

Offering great pour overs, Verve has quickly risen up the ranks to become one of the city’s favorite hangout spaces. The cold brew is good, but if you’re overdosing on the caffeine you should consider doing juice shots. Yes, that’s a thing here around Los Angeles.

Lamill Coffee Boutique

This Silver Lake boutique is constantly filled to the brim on weekends by locals looking for a hearty brunch with a quality cup of joe. Our advice at Lamill: start off with an orange infused cappuccino and pair it with warm brioche donuts.
