In All the Ways You Work<\/a>, WeWork members share how they\u2019re reimagining their professional lives and thriving in this new world of work.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n During the pandemic, Sarah Crabbe had maintained a positive attitude about mandatory remote work until about early September. After leaving the New York City flat she shares with her husband and four-year-old and relocating to a bigger space in New Jersey for the summer, Crabbe, a vice president of ad sales, managed to tolerate her company’s policy. Yet with the end of summer came news that her workplace would stay remote until at least March 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018The minute I got back to the city the weekend before Labour Day, I was like, alright, I’ve got to work something out \u2013 this doesn’t work,\u2019 she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Crabbe and many other families, COVID-19 had disrupted a fine-tuned routine. For her, it had been a 5:40 a.m. alarm and then leaving home for a 6 a.m. barre class. Her son would wake up around about when she returned, which gave her just enough time to get ready for the day and be out the door by 8:30 a.m. She\u2019d arrive at her Midtown office by 9 a.m., then alternate between meetings, client lunches and focused work time at the office until 6 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When both she and her husband started working from home last March, she would wake up when her son woke up (\u2018\u2026which sadly is early, but that’s fine\u2019, she says). After squeezing in a remote workout, Crabbe and her husband would prep their child\u2019s remote pre-school workstation, and then she\u2019d start taking calls. <\/p>\n\n\n
