WeWork becomes a hub for Boston’s creators

We are looking forward to growing our community of creators in Boston

Boston has long been considered a hotbed of revolutionary ideas, academia, and culture, but more recently, it has also become known as a hub for innovation and small business growth.

The combination of multinational companies, VC funds, and top educational institutions attracts ambitious young entrepreneurs from around the world. As a result, Boston has committed itself to cultivating a startup-friendly environment. WeWork is a natural complement to this effort; with two beautiful and conveniently located workspaces in the heart of Boston, it’s the perfect home for the city’s creators.

Since opening in early 2014, we’ve welcomed over 2,000 members to our Boston locations, WeWork South Station and WeWork Fort Point. When you walk the hallways at these buildings, you see a community of people who are driving changes in nearly every industry—tech, law, health care, education, and more.

We designed our Boston locations to reflect the city’s culture and spirit. The Dugout sports lounge at WeWork Fort Point is an ideal spot to bring people together for networking, special events, or just to catch a Sox game. The open spatial layout fosters the free flow of ideas and creativity. Less than a 10-minute walk away, WeWork South Station features a mural painted by local artist Wesley Eggebrecht and his team from House of Phidias.

We have also been fortunate to partner with amazing local organizations that have helped us further our mission and goals. We’ve thrown events with the Friends of Fort Point Channel, which has played an integral role in the neighborhood’s positive transformation in recent years. We partnered with MassChallenge to help recent graduates of their startup accelerator hit the ground running. And in August 2014, we awarded $15,000 to a Boston-based WeWork member, VerbalCare, when they won the Fenway Fast Pitch event at Fenway Park.

As a platform for creators, WeWork is a fundamental character in Boston’s ongoing story of innovation. We’re thrilled to be a part of this historic city’s prospering entrepreneurial ecosystem as it speeds into the future.
